Purple Cows Rotary Trimmer with 13 Blades & Core'dinations 10 Card Sheets
Add the perfect finishing touches to your craft projects with this Purple Cow trimmer set. It features 13 easy-to-use click blades in a variety of designs, including wave and scallop. Decorative blades can trim up to five sheets of 80gsm paper at one time, and straight blades can trim up to 10. Convenient and compact, there's built-in storage and the cutting base is embossed with standard photo sizes for easy trimming. You'll also get 10 sheets of 30.5cm x 30.5cm (12" x 12") Core'dinations cardstock in a range of colours and three spare cutting strips.

Ditch the decorative edge scissors!
"Excellent tool! It's so much easier to use than decorative edge scissors and has so many styles.
I've not found a problem with accuracy. I've drawn a line on the plastic where the actual cut will be to help lining up. A little disappointed that it doesn't have cm marked, so have printed out a ruler from the Internet onto acetate and upgraded my trimmer.
The plastic tape caused me little fuss, don't let that put you off. Give it a go!"

"I hadn't read any reviews before receiving my machine so didn't know about the tape. I decided to try the cutter before completely removing the tape. I didn't like the fact that the measurements were in inches. Maybe I'm too fussy but the straight line didn't seem very straight to me when trying to trim the edge of a card. I tried it a few times after that and there was no improvement so it is being sent back and I will stick to my carl trimmer. The reason I bought the machine was because it held the card and paper tight so I thought you would get a perfect straight line but I was proved wrong. After the carl machine it did look cheap and cheerful as well. I suppose that's why it's a lot cheaper."

Disappointing
"This looked so good and promised so much, what a let down on arrival. Like many others experienced those awful tabs keeping the plastic down during transit, not an enjoyable 30 plus minutes spent removing. Then onto using... well could I get it to cut exactly where I wanted it to ....no. I did keep it a week and kept trying, but had to admit defeat. Did like the range of cutting styles, but that was the only good thing I could say about it."

VERSATILE TRIMMER
"This is a very versatile trimmer, and I have purchased this in addition to another trimmer I already have, and I have a hand held rotary trimmer with several alternative blades.
I still like my old trimmer for the basic straight line trimming, as it has lines marked off every 1/2 cm across the full 12", but is only 6" across. However, the purple cows trimmer is so quick and easy to change the blades, that I will use this far more for the different cuts than I have used my hand held rotary trimmer. My old trimmer I know works really well, and have had it for probably over 15 years, but I sharpen it with silver foil. Would this method work for the purple cows trimmer?
I had no problem removing the tape, and no sticky residue - it is no more difficult than peeling the back off double sided sticky tape or 3D squares."

"I was worried with all the reviews about the white sticky tape but took it off slowly and then used a little surgical spirit to remove the stickey bits i,m pleased with the trimmer and all its different blades would recomend it to anyone. Having so much fun making cards my daughters getting married next year and she asked me to make her invitations i,ll have no problem using the purple cow trimmer.

what a PAIN.
"Unfortunately, I did'nt know about the problems others had had with the sticky tape. I spent ages trying to get the residue off, and could'nt. In the end, I used a tiny amount of nail polish remover, which usually works, when all else fails. It did work, but unfortunately smudged all the black ruler marks too. It is also cumbersome. The presenter gave the impression that this was one cutter, that would cut through a couple of layers of card. It does, but not always cleanly. I am really dissapointed with this, but it now looks such a mess, I will have to keep it."

"Received my trimmer just a few days ago, and have not had a proper chance to test it out thoroughly, but what I have seen of it I am pleased with, I can think of so many ways to use it, can't wait to actually spend some time trying it out.
Having read the reviews about the tape, I was dreading getting it off, but I did as some readers suggested, and removed it slowly, it came off no bother with no residue.
I agree with others however that the size of the trimmer is a bit of a problem, is it necessary for it to be so big?"

"What sticky tape is everyone talking about please - my 8yr old unpacked this item while I was cooking tea and despite looking really hard I can't see any sticky residue on our trimmer at all.
It cuts beautifully straight and patterned lines. We love it and neither of us have had any trouble with "varying pressure" either. We can both change the blades easily and safely ( important when you are only 8 ).
We tried it out on many many thicknesses of card and it worked on all but the very very thickest. Although the scorer was the first blade to reach its "thickness limit" I was still impressed with the item overall. We especially love the peforator. I have had several paper trimmersover the last 20 years or so and have yet to find one that lasts and lasts but I have high hopes for this one. I did hesitate between 4 & 5 stars as the trimmer is not really portable ( although none of the presentations I saw said it was )and the replacment blades seem expensive on various web sites - hopefully QVC will soon be able to offer us the blades at a reasonable price."

"I must be lucky as I didnt have any problems with the white stickers mine came off with ease but I did take notice of the review that said do it slowly, thanks for that tip. I have had the trimmer a couple of days but used it for the first time today and can give it a 10/10. I like the way the paper is held down, love the way it cuts and have tried most of the blades and have just made a couple of cards using it and the finish was great much better than me trying to guess with scissors. It gave a very professional finish especially to my inserts. | always stand when cutting so cant comment on the reviewers that had trouble sitting when cutting? The price was unbeatable too I have seen this for double the TSV price on a lot of web sites. It is such good value that I would rather buy a new one from QVC than replacement blades elsewhere should the time arise. I did look at the other reviews whilst waiting for mine to turn up and thought OMG have I done the wrong thing here but I certainly did not its probably the best trimmer on the market in my opinion."

"Great, Fantastic, Brilliant. I cannot think of any more words to describe this trimmer. I have ideas galore for the other blades. I am making invites for my son's 21st birthday and instead of just straight edge cards I am using the other blades and as was demostrated on air the blade for the rsvp cards. So much more to enhance your cards and matting and layering."

"I managed to remove the sticky tape by pulling it back slowly then after that the cutter just got better and better!!!!I love it to pieces---love the different blades especially the perforating blade --I could play with it for hours--what a sad person you might say!!!!The only negative is its size--it needs to have pride of place permanently on a big worktop--I still havent found a resting place for it yet but I shall.It truly is a FAB bit of crafting kit---love the card too."

I was waiting in wonder....
"Oh dear all these reviews were worrying me.....I took care with the sticky tabs, and providing you did it VERY slowly no problem. Cut evenly, although I must admit cannot seem to cope with heavier card stock, hence the 4 rather than 5 stars.
Overall extremely pleased, and by far better than 'other' Crafting channels - and much cheaper too.
Just love the name - Purple Cows !! Absolutely classic!!"

It does the Job
"I too had trouble getting the sticky paper off, I must admit to scratching the surface a bit in my haste to try this machine. I love it, I did use it standing up but I usually do most craft cutting standing up! It cuts beautifully, and I love the different designs. I played with it for a couple of hours before putting it away so my husband doesn't see I have bought more craft stuff from QVC! My friends will enjoy this tool too when we get together for craft days. Great price as I did find it for nearly double the price on another site."

"I WAS DREADING MY TRIMMER COMING AFTER READING SOME REVIEWS, BUT IT ARRIVED YESTERDAY AND THE WHITE STICKY TAPES REVIEWERS SPOKE OF I LOOKED AT WITH DREAD. THESE CAME OFF EASILY AS LONG AS THEY WERE PULLED SLOWLY, THE BLADES CUT VERY CLEANLY, AND I CAN HONESTLY SAY I AM DELIGHTED. I AM SO GLAD I GOT THIS AND IT WILL BE FANTASTIC FOR MY CRAFTING NEEDS."

"I notice that several people have had problems in removing the sticky residue left by the labels securing the measuring panel. They can be easily removed with just a little cooking oil on a piece of kitchen roll."

"I have to agree with other reviews. This trimmer was a big disappointment. I could of dealt with the sticky tape(eventually) but I actually purchased this more for scrap booking. I wanted to cut my photos without being boring with straight cuts. I found that when trying to cut all four sides of photo it was not ending up square. Even after numerous attempts of using trimmer this way and that way I could not get it to cut accurately. This left me with wonky shaped photos. Sorry purple cow but its back to my craft scissors for now. QVC customer service wonderful as usual, no probs with returning and I will receive a full refund."

"Did not know if I was doing the right thing when I ordered....but so glad I did. I ordered it on the Tuesday got it on the Friday and I have not stopped using it.
As other said it's in inches and I still use CM but not a big problem, soon get around it."

"As with the last reviewer, I was awaiting delivery of my order for this item with a little trepidation, given some of the previous reviews. However, I should not have worried. The sticky tapes holding down the top of the trimmer do, indeed, need a little ingenuity to remove but if you roll them off very slowly and then use a rubber eraser to rub off the remaining sticky bits, it is an easy and fairly quick task. The trimmer itself I am very pleased with too. It performs exactly as shown on tv and cuts neatly and cleanly. I have to apply no more pressure than with any of my other trimmers but the results are far better. The storage compartments do not detract from the trimmer as at all as far as I am concerned the storage is just a bonus."
